Mary Fetterman, ERYT came to her mat in 2002. “I admit that I began practicing yoga purely for physical reasons. I just had my second child and was looking for a way to get back in shape.” Mary found what she was looking for and so much more. Yoga became a part of her life, and a way of living with benefits far beyond “getting in shape." A little over a year later, Mary was leading the same class she began with. She feels that teaching yoga is incredibly rewarding and her true passion is in working with those new to yoga and helping them find their comfort level while challenging their abilities. Kathleen Guidotti, MPH, ERYT first became aware of the mind body connection while training for her black belt in Tae Kwon Do with her father and then practicing Hatha yoga, instructed by her mother, in 1997. While yoga initially frustrated her she was intrigued by her inability to simply relax and enjoy being with herself. So Kathleen pursued studying and is now driven by the healing power of yoga and mindful living and all it has to offer to reduce stress, anxiety and constantly generate a positive attitude. She supports yoga for its preventative and restorative qualities for the health of the mind, body and spirit. Usha Lakshmi, RYT " I am passionate about yoga, full stop. My yoga journey has all been about breathing, practicing, teaching and simply being. Since childhood I practiced sun salutes every morn come rain or shine. Yoga grounded me and always helped me to live in the now. About ten years ago, I learnt the nitty-gritty of the Vinyasa flow and have been practicing it on a regular basis since then. I still have much to learn, of course with yoga the journey never ends. I am trained to teach the Vinyasa flow, I have learnt that sharing my knowledge with others takes my own personal experience to a whole new level. Don’t they say that when you give, it gets returned back to you threefold? I couldn’t agree more. I learn from my students every day. Thus with teaching and practicing I come the full circle." Laura Liss, MSW, ERYT is the director of The Center and has been practicing yoga for over 17 Years. Her motivation to teach grows out of her love of yoga and desire to help others connect with it’s powerful benefits. While she began her professional career as a psychotherapist she has found yoga to be a wonderful way to help so many learn to relax, strengthen and bring what they practice on their mats into their everyday lives. Laura has a background in the Astanga, Anusara and Vinyasa styles of Yoga and she teaches the Stationary Series, and Flow classes with enthusiasm and devotion. Carly Nagle's, RYT life was changed by yoga in 2004. Since her first moment on the mat, Carly has devoured every opportunity to dive deeper into the practice of yoga to realize all of it's physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. As an instructor she is trained in Power, Flow and Stationary yoga and aims to serve her students by helping them cultivate health, balance and personal strength through their practice. Carly believes that with a little compassion, positive energy and mindfulness we are collectively changing the world with the power of our yoga practice. Laurie Nonnemacher, RYT is trained in Vinyasa Power Yoga and is thrilled to be able to share her passion for yoga with others. Laurie is a very high-spirited and enthusiastic teacher who balances this with a steady pace and calming voice to easily engage students in an enriching yoga class. Laurie currently teaches flow classes and is discovering her talents in leading students through guided meditation in the mindful class. Denice Richardson, RYT first discovered yoga in 2001 while recovering from plantar fasciitis. Going to her first power yoga class was a life changing opportunity. She soon found running and yoga to be one and could not do one without the other. Yoga has helped her create “balance” in so many aspects of her life. "I’m passionate about sharing the importance of breath, extension of the body, proper alignment, awareness and how these things truly help the body create a vitality that’s amazing. Yoga is a life long journey that I’m proud to be able to share with people." Susan Sacchetti, RYT became a certified fitness instructor 18 years ago to help others realize the many benefits of exercise as part of daily life. Eight years into teaching, Susan took to a yoga mat for the first time and found it to be life changing. At a time when her daughter was suffering through a severe illness, yoga gave Susan new strength, inner peace, and the physical healing that helped her through a very difficult time. Susan has been teaching Vinyasa for 6 years, and most recently is enjoying teaching BNB and Stationary Series. “While exercise is a huge part of my life, yoga has added a balance and tranquility unique only to itself.” |
