Beryl, an avid student of classical yoga and the study of consciousness since l971, is the best-selling author of Power Yoga, Beyond Power Yoga, and Boomer Yoga.  She has been training yoga students and teachers as “spiritual revolutionaries” for over 40 years, and her deep knowledge and down to earth style will help you to probe the secret teachings of classical yoga. 


 

Friday 6-9pm Boomer Yoga: Keep your body young, mind vibrant, and spirit soaring

Drawing from her book, Boomer Yoga, Beryl will introduce a dynamic yoga practice that is especially designed for boomers (ages 40-70) to accommodate our changing bodies and minds. This is an opportunity to experience an energetic yet doable approach to asana that will rejuvenate and detoxify your system. Those who are new to yoga as well as lifelong practitioners will find this method a wonderful tool for staying healthy and fit. All teachers and students are welcome.

Saturday 9am-12pm  Detox for Mind and Body:  The combined cleansing of sweat, breath, and attention A strong, rajasic (active) astanga vinyasa flow yoga practice is a powerful ally in keeping the vital organs in good physical shape and the immune system strong.  Using the tools that classical yoga provides – ujjayi breathing, drishti, and the bandhas, we can consciously work to eliminate toxins and pollutants from our mind and body!!  Healthy diet and organic foods are critical but so is a method of strengthening the immune system and cleansing the tightness, toxins, and tension that we endure in our environment day after day.  Join us for a sweaty, focused, cleansing asana practice.  Includes pranayama and short discussion.  

Saturday 1-4pm Yoga Meditation for Stress Relief

Turn on the Relaxation Response and relieve anxiety and depression in just 12 minutes a day. There is a mind body revolution under way in the medical world.  For a long time about the only people who knew about the benefits of mind body practices like yoga and meditation were those who were studying metaphysics or following some kind of a spiritual path.  But now scientists and physicians are investigating meditation to see how it can benefit our physical and mental health.

New studies and data are showing and confirming what the yogis have always known!!!  We now have scientific proof that the mind can heal the body.  And it can help to relieve stress in our lives and bring greater peace of mind and a deeper sense of joy and happiness starting today. Includes practice and discussion.
